St. Louis recently presented at the 22nd Annual Mastering Scientific Evidence in DWI/DUI Cases conference. The national seminar was held from March 26-28, 2015, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

At the conference, Tucson DUI lawyer Joseph P. St. Louis taught criminal defense attorneys how to defend cases involving blood test evidence. He instructed attendees on the basic information necessary to challenge a blood test in a DUI case in his “Gas Chromatography for Beginners” lecture. St. Louis then demonstrated these techniques, when he held a mock trial before a real jury.
MSE’s mock trial is a unique opportunity for attorneys to learn how to try a blood case. Jurors are selected from members of the New Orleans community who have agreed to serve as actual jurors and decide the case being presented. The mock trial transpired on stage at the conference, and St. Louis demonstrated how to cross-examine the State’s laboratory expert, and how to use an expert to defend a DUI case with a blood test. The mock trial concluded with jury arguments, deliberation and debriefing.
St. Louis has presented at the Mastering Scientific Evidence in DWI/DUI Cases conference on multiple occasions, and this past week was the third MSE mock trial he has participated in.
St. Louis is certified as a specialist in criminal law by the Arizona State Bar, and certified as a specialist in DUI defense by the National College for DUI Defense, as recognized by the American Bar Association. He is a member of the Board of Regents of the National College for DUI Defense.
